About Us |
Sonoma Woods is an upbeat and friendly active adult age restricted (55+) private community nestled in the bucolic Westfield section of Middletown, Connecticut. Located on 40 acres of land, much of which is wooded open space, it has 68 distinctive standalone units surrounded by beautifully manicured landscaping and trees, gazebos and a 2,000 square foot Community Center.
Construction of Sonoma Woods was completed in 2014. The units, which are individual homes, range in size from 1,400 to 2,400 square feet, and many have walk-out basements. All feature brick or stone trim, and include a patio or deck.
Our residents enjoy a relaxed lifestyle with maintenance free living. Many of our residents enjoy a late afternoon glass of wine on their back deck or patio, in one of our gazebos, or - along with their neighbors - take advantage of one of the varied social activities at our Community Center.
The Sonoma Woods Condominium Association maintains the exterior elements of the community, including lawn care, snow removal, and exterior maintenance of the units. The Association also provides insurance coverage for the units exclusive of the residents’ personal property.
Our established community is within reach of major highways and other modes of transportation and an easy 10-minute drive to shopping and dining in the vibrant city of Middletown, the hub of Middlesex County, located on the scenic Connecticut River. Our city's forty-two square miles include rural, suburban and urban settings, a historic downtown, large city-owned parks, nature trails, farmlands and open spaces. Originally a busy sailing port and then an industrial center, Middletown is now largely residential with its downtown serving as a popular retail, dining, and entertainment district proximal to prestigious Wesleyan University.
As a Sonoma Woods homeowner, you will be kept up to date on community events, your neighbors’ vacations, and local activities in The Grapevine, a monthly newsletter published for residents. Homeowners can also access the Upcoming Activities sections of this website for neighborhood news.
Remember that this is our site to keep informed about the happenings at our community.
